Praetorian Executive Protection utilizes a hybrid staffing model. All executive protection, residential, event, clandestine, maritime, and transportation roles are classified as W-2 employment under Praetorian's Class "B" Security Agency license. Intelligence analysts, consultants, trainers, and advisors are engaged as 1099 independent contractors under a separate Strategic Advisory & Intelligence agreement. Detailed classification is confirmed at the time of job offer.

Where Candidates Are Forged
Frames from live academy evolutions — helicopter insertion work, carbine and pistol diagnostics, and field craft. Operator identities are redacted as a matter of policy.
Completing academy evolutions is one stage of the pathway — it does not, by itself, make a candidate a Praetorian operator.
Hybrid Staffing Model
Two Engagement Tracks
Praetorian classifies every role under one of two tracks. Applicants are routed based on the Florida licensure required for the assignment. Classification is confirmed in writing at the time of offer.
W-2 Employment — Protection & Security Officers
All executive protection, residential, event, travel, clandestine, maritime, transportation, and crisis response roles are W-2 employment with Praetorian Executive Protection LLC, a Florida Class "B" Security Agency (License B3600136). This classification is required by Florida Statute § 493.6301(4), which provides that a Class D licensee shall own or be an employee of a Class B security agency.
Florida Class D / Class G
Active Class D license (unarmed) and Class G statewide firearm license for armed assignments, issued by FDACS, or willingness to obtain prior to deployment.
Standard Payroll
Compensation is paid through Praetorian payroll with standard federal, FICA, and Medicare withholdings. Reported to the Florida State Directory of New Hires.
Workers' Compensation
Covered under Praetorian's workers' compensation and general liability policies during assigned duties.
Agency-Issued Credentials
Duty equipment, credentials, and post orders are issued or authorized by the agency. Agency manager provides operational direction within the assignment.
I-9 and Background Check
Standard I-9 employment verification, background investigation, and FDACS fingerprinting per Chapter 493, F.S.
Career Pathway
W-2 employment is the career-entry track for Praetorian. Performance and discretion determine pathway into recurring and retainer-level work.
1099 Independent Contractor — Strategic Advisory & Intelligence
Intelligence analysts, security consultants, vulnerability auditors, executive security trainers, and digital threat protection advisors are engaged on a 1099 independent contractor basis under Praetorian's Strategic Advisory & Intelligence Agreement. This track is strictly limited to analytical, advisory, consulting, and training work and expressly excludes any regulated Security Officer or Armed Guard duties under Chapter 493, Florida Statutes. Sole proprietors welcome.
Valid W-9 and TIN
Valid taxpayer identification number (SSN or FEIN) on a signed IRS Form W-9. Sole proprietors welcome. No LLC required.
Advisory Scope Only
1099 work is strictly limited to intelligence analysis, strategic consulting, training, and advisory services. No regulated Security Officer or Armed Guard duties.
Insurance and COI
Professional liability (errors and omissions) and commercial general liability insurance. Current Certificate of Insurance on file prior to any engagement.
Contractor-Provided Resources
Contractor provides their own computer, research tools, communications, and any resources required for advisory and analytical work.
Non-Exclusive Engagement
Contractors are free to accept engagements from other entities. Praetorian does not claim exclusivity.
Project-Based Compensation
Compensation by project rate or flat fee. Pay is negotiated per engagement, not as a standing wage.
Signed Advisory Agreement
A signed Strategic Advisory & Intelligence Agreement is required prior to any assignment. The agreement governs scope, confidentiality, and engagement terms.
Praetorian Executive Protection LLC operates as a Florida Class "B" Security Agency (License B3600136) in compliance with Chapter 493, Florida Statutes, and Section 440.02, F.S. The 1099 and W-2 tracks are strictly separated. Any work involving a regulated Security Officer, Armed Guard, or executive protection duty flows to W-2 employment. Intelligence, advisory, consulting, and training work flows to the 1099 track. Classification of any specific role is not transferable between tracks and is confirmed at the time of offer.
