Leadership

The People Who Run It

Careers built across the most demanding operational environments in the country.

Christopher Key

Vice President

Christopher Key

Christopher Key serves as Vice President of Praetorian Executive Protection. With more than 17 years of combined military, defense-contracting, and law-enforcement experience, he brings extensive operational leadership and firsthand expertise in high-threat environments, dignitary protection, and complex security operations.

Christopher served six years in the United States Army Military Police, completing multiple combat deployments in Iraq. His military service included force-protection and dignitary-protection assignments, including providing personal security for U.S. State Department officials and Flag Officers.

Following his military service, Christopher worked as a defense contractor supporting U.S. Central Command in Afghanistan, Qatar, and CONUS. Operating within high-tempo, mission-critical environments, he further developed his capabilities in operational security, coordination, communications, and mission support.

Christopher subsequently served 11 years in law enforcement, holding investigative, instructional, and supervisory responsibilities. His experience includes responding to and managing high-risk incidents, supervising personnel across large operational areas, maintaining accountability during simultaneous operations, conducting covert and enforcement activities, and contributing to the training and professional development of new deputies.

Throughout his career, Christopher has maintained that executive protection is not an entry-level profession. His leadership emphasizes preparation, sound judgment, discretion, accountability, and the selection and development of experienced professionals capable of operating effectively in complex and rapidly changing environments.

Standards

Held to a Written Standard

Executive protection has spent decades without a common benchmark. Anyone could print a card. That is finally changing, and we intend to be measured by it rather than wait to be.

Our leadership attended the Executive Security Operations Conference in June 2026 at Lake Buena Vista, Florida — the annual conference of the Board of Executive Protection Professionals, the ANSI-accredited body writing the first nationally recognized standard for providing executive protection.

Three days on state licensing, insurance, protective intelligence, and advance work. We came back with sharper practice and a clearer view of where this profession is heading — and we will keep showing up.

Philosophy

Protection is Not About Presence

Executive protection, at its core, is not just about security. It's about prevention, discretion, and control. My background in military operations, law enforcement, and corporate security allowed me to develop a protection philosophy centered on proactive threat mitigation, disciplined presence, and maintaining the client's ability to operate freely without disruption.

Every operation begins with intelligence. Understanding the threat environment, identifying vulnerabilities, and building a security plan that allows the principal to move freely and confidently. That is the standard. That is what 30 years of operational experience delivers.
