Praetorian was founded on the principle that protecting another person’s life is one of the highest responsibilities a professional can accept. That belief is deeply rooted in my own family history and in the example set by my father, Kevin J. Smith, a firefighter who lost his life serving others on September 11, 2001.

He demonstrated that protecting others is not about recognition or personal gain — it is about accepting responsibility when someone else needs you. I carry that lesson into Praetorian and expect it to remain part of the company’s identity for generations to come.
