Executive Protection Jobs in Florida
Praetorian recruits experienced operators across Brevard County, Orlando, Miami, Tampa, and Jacksonville. Real EP work with real principals, not contract guard shifts.
Praetorian Executive Protection LLC recruits experienced executive protection operators for assignments across Florida, including Brevard County, Orlando, Miami, Tampa, and Jacksonville. The firm hires military veterans, former law enforcement, and trained EP professionals for HNW client details, residential security, event coverage, and protective intelligence work. Praetorian is led by Christopher Smith, a 30+ year veteran of the United States Marine Corps, law enforcement, and corporate executive protection.
Florida is one of the fastest-growing executive protection markets in the country. The state's combination of HNW residents, corporate executives, public figures, and visiting principals has created sustained demand for operators who can do real EP work. Praetorian is hiring across the state. We are not staffing patrol shifts. We are building a bench of operators who can step into a detail and execute.
Real EP Work
Close protection details, residential security, event coverage, and protective intelligence. Not contract guard or patrol shifts.
Brevard County HQ
Headquartered in Cocoa with operators deploying statewide. Local Brevard candidates get priority consideration for Space Coast assignments.
Custom Engagements
No two assignments look the same. Operators are matched to engagements by experience, skill set, and the principal's profile.
Discretion Required
Praetorian's brand is built on discretion. Operators who post photos, name clients, or self-promote on social media will not be considered.
Who We Hire in Florida
We hire military veterans (especially infantry, special operations, and security cooperation backgrounds), former law enforcement officers with patrol or specialized unit experience, and trained executive protection professionals with prior PSD or corporate EP work. Active and former federal LE backgrounds are a plus. Florida licensure (Class D or G) is required for licensed roles, and we will work with strong candidates on the licensing pathway.
What the Work Looks Like
An average week might include a residential security shift in Brevard, an event coverage assignment in Orlando, advance work for a visiting executive in Miami, or a movement plan for a HNW family in Tampa. Assignments are scheduled in advance where possible and on short notice when the engagement requires it. Operators are expected to plan, prep, execute, and debrief like professionals.
Why Praetorian and Not a National Chain
Christopher Smith built Praetorian after operating at the highest levels of corporate executive protection, including supporting the executive personal security detail for Jeff Bezos and the Amazon Board of Directors at Kennedy Space Center. The work here is closer to that standard than to contract security. If you want to do real protection work for serious principals, this is where to do it.

Questions About This Role
Where in Florida is Praetorian hiring?
Brevard County and the Space Coast are priority because we are headquartered in Cocoa. We also hire across Orlando, Miami, Tampa, Jacksonville, and the broader Florida market for assignment-based work.
Do I need a Florida security license to apply?
Yes for licensed roles. A Florida Class D license is required for unarmed assignments and a Class G is required for armed assignments. Strong candidates without current licensure can be considered if they are committed to obtaining it.
Is this full-time or assignment-based work?
Most engagements begin as assignment-based. Operators who perform consistently move into more frequent and longer engagements over time, including residential and family detail work that runs on a recurring basis.
Does Praetorian hire operators without prior EP experience?
Limited slots. Strong military or LE backgrounds with clear transferable skills can be considered for entry assignments under direct supervision. Most hires already have EP, PSD, or corporate protection experience.
How do I apply confidentially?
Submit the application form on the careers page. Discretion runs both ways. We do not contact your current employer without permission and we do not publish names of candidates or operators.
