Cruise Ship Security and Executive Cruise Protection
Private cruise ship security for executives and HNW families. Close protection on the ship, at the dock, and during every shore excursion. Florida licensed operators deployed as paying passengers on your sailing.

Cruise ship security is a coordinated protection program for executives, HNW families, and public figures sailing commercial cruise lines or private charters. The onboard security staff provided by the cruise line is responsible for ship-wide safety and is not a personal protection detail. Embarkation terminals are crowded. Shore excursions move through unfamiliar jurisdictions with widely varying threat profiles. Praetorian provides continuous close protection from the moment the principal arrives at the terminal through debarkation on return, with advance work on every port of call. Operators sail as paying passengers from Port Canaveral, Port of Miami, Port Everglades, Port Tampa Bay, and JAXPORT.
Pre-Sailing Planning and Advance Work

Every cruise engagement begins weeks before sailing. We review the itinerary, the ship's deck plan, and the booking profile. We coordinate with the cruise line security office where appropriate to confirm onboard protocols and medical resources. For each port of call, we build a destination assessment covering local threat conditions, transportation options, venue vetting, and extraction contingencies. The plan is rehearsed with the principal before departure.
Port Embarkation and Debarkation Security

Port terminals are the highest exposure points of any cruise. Crowds, luggage processing, baggage handler access, and slow security lines all create openings. Praetorian stages secure ground transportation to the terminal, manages a controlled walk through check-in, coordinates luggage separately from the principal's movement, and holds position until the principal is aboard and in a secure cabin. The same protocol runs in reverse on return.
Onboard Close Protection

Our operators sail as paying passengers. Onboard, the detail maintains discreet close protection through dining, entertainment, spa, excursions, and movement around the ship. We coordinate with ship security for any elevated concerns, vary daily routines to avoid predictable patterns, and handle social engineering risks that commonly target wealthy passengers. Weapons are not carried aboard. Protection is built on planning, positioning, and professional presence, not on firepower.
Shore Excursion Protection

Shore excursions are a separate operation at every port. We pre-clear venues, secure private ground transportation, vet local guides and drivers, and run the excursion as a protective movement. For Caribbean and Latin American ports with elevated threat profiles, excursion plans include medical evacuation contingencies and pre-identified safe zones. Large-group cruise line excursions are not appropriate for high-profile principals. We build private, tailored excursions instead. Operators deployed on cruise engagements are W-2 employees of Praetorian Executive Protection LLC, a Florida Class B licensed Security Agency (License B3600136), covered under agency workers' compensation and general liability so that jurisdictional or insurance questions arising mid-sailing land on a licensed agency, not a freelance operator.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you provide executive protection on a cruise ship?
Yes. Praetorian deploys licensed operators as paying passengers aboard the sailing. Onboard cruise line security is focused on ship-wide safety and is not a personal detail. Our operators provide close protection for the principal and family through embarkation, during the sailing, during shore excursions, and on return to the port.
What Florida ports do you cover?
Praetorian supports cruise engagements out of Port Canaveral, Port of Miami, Port Everglades (Fort Lauderdale), Port Tampa Bay, and JAXPORT. Our operators are based on the Space Coast and deploy to any Florida port with secure ground transportation in place before the principal arrives at the terminal.
How is cruise protection different from standard executive protection?
Cruise protection adds operational constraints that shore-based EP does not have. Weapons are not permitted aboard most commercial vessels. Operators must work within ship security protocols, adapt to shore excursion environments across multiple jurisdictions, and maintain coverage through port transfers where the risk profile shifts between terminal, ship, and excursion.
Do shore excursions require separate planning?
Yes. Every shore excursion is planned in advance. Praetorian conducts destination assessments, identifies local transportation assets, pre-clears venues, and establishes medical and extraction options for each port of call. Cruise itineraries touch multiple jurisdictions with different threat profiles, and an excursion plan built on the ship as the boat arrives is never sufficient.
Do you coordinate with the cruise line's security team?
Where it serves the principal, yes. We coordinate with the ship's security office on protocols, restricted areas, and medical resources. We do not rely on ship security as a substitute for a personal detail. Ship security is responsible for the vessel and all passengers. Our operators are responsible only for the principal.
